Greta Gerwig Joins Edith Bowman In A Special Episode of Soundtracking

Following the 2018 EE British Academy Film Awards on Sunday, the partnership with film broadcaster Edith Bowman continues with the third special episode of her podcast; Soundtracking with Edith Bowman, in partnership with the EE BAFTAs and features another outstanding BAFTA nominee.
This weeks guest was none other than Greta Gerwig. The podcast featured never-before-heard content from behind the scenes of her film Ladybird and an exclusive insight into working with the likes of Justin Timberlake and Dave Matthews.
Ladybird marks Greta Gerwig’s directorial debut and was nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the 2018 EE BAFTAS.
Edith and Greta discuss the feature film’s original music from artists such as; Alanis Morrissette, Justin Timberlake, Dave Matthews and, composer Jon Brion. Greta discusses the kindness shown to her by musicians when she reached out to them to work on the film’s soundtrack. She says; “You think as a film maker I might as well try, people might say no but let’s see if we can get a yes!”
Following her interview with Greta, Edith said: “Greta is one of the most exciting female voices in film. I’ve adored her work, both as an actor and writer, and now she sucker punches us with Lady Bird, her first solo directing project. Everything about this film is brilliant, and it was a real treat to fangirl, I mean, chat to her.”
