Taylor Sheridan’s Hit Crime Thriller Recruits Samuel L. Jackson in Explosive Season 3 Trailer

Sep 4, 2025

Tulsa King, the popular streaming series starring Sylvester Stallone, has unveiled a new trailer that shows off an explosive Season 3. Taylor Sheridan seems to have more tricks up his sleeve this time around, including a new addition that puts the Tulsa King universe at another level. Paramount+ has released the full trailer for Tulsa King Season 3, which officially introduces Samuel L. Jackson into the world of crime before headlining his own spinoff, NOLA King. Jackson will portray Russell Lee Washington Jr., a mysterious new character who has a past with Stallone’s Dwight. Meanwhile, “The General” himself will have his own fish to fry, as Robert Patrick’s powerful “tyrant of Tulsa” threatens his newfound empire. The third season of Tulsa King will premiere on Paramount+ on September 21. You can check out the trailer below. Tulsa King Season 3 is going to feature a bevy of familiar faces, as well as several new ones. Joining Stallone and Jackson is a stacked cast that includes Martin Starr, Jay Will, Annabella Sciorra, Neal McDonough, Beau Knapp, Bella Heathcote, Chris Caldovino, McKenna Quigley Harrington, Mike “Cash Flo” Walden, Kevin Pollak, Vincent Piazza, Frank Grillo, Michael Beach, James Russo, Garrett Hedlund, and Dana Delany. Sheridan returns as executive producer, while Dave Erickson takes over as sole showrunner. The plot synopsis for Tulsa King Season 3:
In season three, as Dwight’s empire expands, so do his enemies and the risks to his crew. Now, he faces his most dangerous adversaries in Tulsa yet: the Dunmires, a powerful old-money family that doesn’t play by old-world rules, forcing Dwight to fight for everything he’s built and protect his family.

The ‘Tulsa King’ Franchise Expands With ‘NOLA King’

After appearing in Tulsa King Season 3, Samuel L. Jackson is getting his own Taylor Sheridan-produced spinoff series. NOLA King will follow his character, Russell Lee Washington Jr., moving from Tulsa to New Orleans in search of second chances. He’ll be returning to conquer a home he abandoned forty years prior, reuniting with his friends and family in the process. Read the official synopsis:
NOLA KING follows Russell Lee Washington Jr. (Jackson) who, after befriending Dwight Manfredi (Stallone) during a ten-year stint in federal prison, is sent to Tulsa by New York’s Renzetti crime family to take Dwight out once and for all. Inspired by what Dwight created in Tulsa and impressed with the possibilities of second chances, Washington returns to New Orleans, the home he abandoned forty-years ago, to rekindle his relationship with his family and friends, and to take control of the city he left behind. In so doing, he incurs the wrath of his former employers in New York, and makes himself vulnerable to old NOLA foes, both criminal and cop.
Sheridan is set to executive produce NOLA King alongside Jackson and Sylvester Stallone. The pilot was written by Dave Erickson, who was also set to act as showrunner. However, he was forced to leave the project behind earlier this summer due to his commitment with Tulsa King and Mayor of Easttown. The search for a showrunner is still ongoing, but the spinoff series is still expected to come to fruition after Jackson makes his debut in Tulsa King.
