’Jessica Jones’ Series In Development At Marvel Studios with Krysten Ritter
Jun 26, 2025
Fans of Jessica Jones have been waiting a long time to see the super-powered private investigator back on screens, and it looks like they could be getting more than expected if a new rumor about Krysten Ritter’s popular Marvel character turns out to be true. Ritter originally played Jones in her own Netflix series, and subsequently crossed over with other Marvel Television shows Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, as well as the joint Defenders series. When Marvel Studios shut down Marvel Television, it looked like the end of the road for the group of New York vigilantes, much to the annoyance of fans.

Krysten Ritter is back in the Marvel fold – and the leather and denim look has never been more appreciated.
Now, following the return of Daredevil, Jessica Jones will be joining the MCU in Born Again Season 2, and has already been spotted on set filming alongside Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock. It seems, though, that this is not the only project set to feature Jones, as a new rumor from Daniel Richtman has suggested she will be following in the footsteps of Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, and get her own solo project too. While there are no details as to what this could look like, Jones’ popularity is probably a good enough reason for Marvel Studios to consider her for a new project of her own outside her role in the second season of Daredevil.
Jessica Jones Can Be Reborn in the MCU
Netflix
The return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil was something Marvel fans have been demanding since Netflix’s Marvel Television venture was shut down. They got their wish as the actor reprised his role as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, then appeared as Daredevil fleetingly in both Echo and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, before he made his full return in Daredevil: Born Again. Now, with Bernthal back in the franchise as the Punisher, it is time for Ritter to finally bring back Jessica Jones in the way fans really want – with her rebirth in a new series. There have been very few details revealed about just how big a role Ritter will have in Born Again Season 2, and it could end up being similar to that of Bernthal in Season 1. However, that could also mean the series will pave the way for what comes next for the character, whether that be a full series, a one-shot special, or something else entirely. What has become clear is that Marvel Studios have been listening to what fans want, and more importantly, who they want to see returning to the Marvel fold in the coming months and years. Whether this also opens the door for Mike Colter and Finn Jones to reprise their roles as Luke Cage and Iron Fist, respectively, is something that is yet to be confirmed, but it seems to be growing more and more likely as time moves on and the Marvel Universe welcomes back several lost groups, including The Fantastic Four and X-Men.
