‘Superman’ DCU Film Features MCU Actor Cameos Including Bradley Cooper
Jun 26, 2025
Superman is headed to theaters this summer, but James Gunn has already revealed several major cameos that fans of his MCU franchise will instantly recognize. The filmmaker is known for working with longtime collaborators on his superhero projects, and it seems his upcoming DCU film is no exception. Per Buzz Feed, Gunn revealed during an early preview screening that Superman features several cameos from the Guardians of the Galaxy crew. Pom Klementieff, Bradley Cooper, and Michael Rooker all voice robots in the Fortress of Solitude, which was previewed in a five-minute clip earlier this year. The news arrives after it was confirmed that Creature Commandos star Alan Tudyk also voices one of the many robots in the Kryptonian homebase. Of course, there is a good chance the aforementioned actors will play other, more significant roles in the DCU, especially since the robots are only voice acting roles. Gunn’s quote:
“Pom Klementieff is one of the robots. In that same scene, it’s Bradley, it’s also Pom, and Michael Rooker is another one of the robots.”

A new trailer for James Gunn’s ‘Superman’ teases all the action fans have been waiting for.
Longtime fans know that the Guardians of the Galaxy trio are not the only MCU actors appearing in Superman. Nathan Fillion, who has appeared in the MCU for Gunn several times, is playing the Green Lantern Guy Gardner in the DCU film. However, despite several connections to his past work, Superman is actually mostly comprised of actors that Gunn has not worked with before. The movie stars David Corenswet as Superman, Rachal Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. The rest of the cast includes Edi Gatheg, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Neva Howell.
Bradley Cooper Is Rumored for Another Major DCU Role in ‘Superman’
Warner Bros.
Possible Spoilers Ahead for James Gunn’s SupermanSurprisingly enough, Bradley Cooper has already been rumored for a special role in Superman. However, his role as a robot in the Fortress of Solitude was not reported until now. Cooper was expected to portray the late Kryptonian father of Superman, Jor-El. His voice role as a robot may actually coincide with this previous report, as Jor-El normally appears as a hologram in the Fortress and could be controlling one of the droids. Cooper’s cameo as the iconic character would be the third live-action iteration on the big screen since Marlon Brando first portrayed Jor-El in the 1978 film. Russell Crowe took on the role for Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, making Cooper another esteemed addition to an incredibly impressive casting history. Cooper played Rocket Raccoon in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, as well as in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. While his time in the MCU is not over, it appears he is keen on spreading his wings in the superhero genre. His time as Jor-El will likely be minimal, but it is exciting to see another Oscar-nominated actor take on the iconic role. He most recently made an appearance in The Righteous Gemstones as Elijah Gemstone, the grandfather of Eli Gemstone (John Goodman). Source: BuzzFeed
