Tina Fey’s ‘The Four Seasons’ Renewed For Season 2 At Netflix
May 16, 2025
Another, um, season of The Four Seasons? Although in this case, wouldn’t it technically be four? Whatever way you slice it, the news remains the same: we’re getting more of The Four Seasons! That’s right, Netflix has renewed the Tina Fey, Tracey Wigfield, and Lang Fisher-created series adaptation of the 1981 Alan Alda film of the same name. That brings the number of seasons up to two — or eight. But who’s counting? (Lots of people, probably.)
The news was announced on Wednesday, May 14, at Netflix’s Upfronts Presentation at the Perelman Performing Arts Center in New York City. “We are so grateful that audiences worldwide share our love of cozy sweaters, drinks by the ocean, and picking fights in a hot tub,” said series co-creators Fey, Fisher, and Wigfield (according to a report). “See you on our next vacation together!” The series was originally billed as a miniseries (which generally indicates something as intended to be a single season).

Every episode of ‘The Four Seasons’ delivers laughs and tender moments, but a few are especially notable for their humor and touching scenes.
For those of you reading this who weren’t one of the 24.4 million views (according to Netflix) of the series, the official synopsis is as follows:
“Six old friends head for a relaxing weekend away only to learn that one couple in the group is about to split up. The three couples, Kate (Tina Fey) and Jack (Will Forte), Nick (Steve Carell) and Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver), and Danny (Colman Domingo) and Claude (Marco Calvani), are completely upended by the news. Over the course of a year, we follow the friends on four vacations, and watch how this shake-up affects everyone’s dynamic — sending old issues and new bubbling to the surface.”
The series also stars Erika Henningsen as Ginny, a character whose identity would be a spoiler for anyone reading this information without the knowledge of Season One’s story arc! Thankfully, we will be doing exactly that in the section below for those who are curious about whether one of the above-mentioned stars will return given…everything that happens.

Everything We Know About ‘The Four Seasons’ Season 2 So Far (Which Isn’t Much, To Be Fair)
Netflix
Now, given everything that happens by the end of Season One of The Four Seasons, you may be asking yourself, “Hmm, I wonder if they’re going to bring Steve Carell back, even though his character Nick died?” Which is a fair question to ask! He is a very famous and popular star! Maybe they could have him do flashback appearances, or something, eh? Unfortunately, Netflix’s press release gave us no hint one way or another. Meaning only time will tell whether Carell will return, though it does feel safe to say that if he does, it’ll be as more of a guest star than anything else.
One also can’t help but wonder what sort of vacations the friends will be going on together. Babymoon? Bridal shower? Birthday? Something else that doesn’t begin with a B? While we might not be able to think of another off the top of our heads, we’re sure Fey, Fisher, and Wigfield will think up some good ones for us, filled with the sort of cozy comedic drama that can only come from watching wealthy friends go on trips as they age together.
