“An exclusive look at the Man in Black’s power, speed, brutality, rage and very dangerous calm amidst chaos,” Johnson says in a caption alongside the footage. “He unleashes hell and is the most powerful force on this planet. I’ve fought to make this movie for 15yrs and honored to deliver for you — the fans.”
MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY
Black Adam will pick up with the character after nearly five thousand years of imprisonment. An antihero from the ancient city of Kahndaq, Black Adam is suddenly unleashed into modern times. His brute tactics and way of justice attract the attention of the Justice Society of America, who tries to stop his rampage, teach him how to be a hero more than a villain, and must team up to stop a force more powerful than Adam himself.
Led by Dwayne Johnson as the title character, Black Adam will also introduce the Justice Society of America. One Night in Miami… star Aldis Hodge will lead the JSA as Carter Hall, AKA Hawkman, an archeologist who discovers that he is the reincarnation of an Egyptian prince, alongside James Bond star Pierce Brosnan as the all-powerful sorcerer Kent Nelson AKA Doctor Fate, Euphoria star Quintessa Swindell’s Maxine Hunkel AKA Cyclone, who can control wind and generate sound, and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before star Noah Centineo as Albert “Al” Rothstein, AKA Atom Smasher, who can control his molecular structure and manipulate his size and strength.
Dwayne Johnson Has Promised a Big Screen Battle Between Black Adam & Superman
Warner Bros. Pictures
There are currently plenty of rumors doing the rounds that claim Henry Cavill will reprise the role of Superman during the final moments of Black Adam. Johnson has now confirmed his plans for a big screen battle between the pair saying, “Absolutely. That is the whole point of this man. Thank you for asking that. And I have been saying for some time, there’s a new era in the DC Universe that’s about to begin.”
He continued adding, “Introducing the JSA, introducing that new era of the DC universe. But also what I really meant by, ‘This is a new era in the DC Universe,’ is listening to the fans. Listening to the fans. And doing our best to give the fans what they want. And maybe, sometime down the road — and I went through this in pro wrestling — is you can’t always give them what you want. But you’ll always know that we’re listening. And in this case, with what you and I are talking about, I have been listening and I’ve been wanting to address fans for years. Because I’ve been waiting for someone to step up and address the fans and say, ‘Hey, we hear you.’ So finally, after many months turned into many years, we ended up with what we ended up at. And the whole goal and intention now is to this new era, new time. Now let’s build out.”
Black Adam is scheduled to be released in the United States on October 21, 2022, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
