‘Adolescence,’ ‘The Pitt, ‘ And ‘Dying For Sex’ Top 2025 Gotham Television Awards Nominations

The nominees for the second annual Gotham Television Awards have been revealed, and to no one’s surprise, Netflix’s “Adolescence” was at the top of the list. The critical and streaming hit landed four nominations, including Breakthrough Limited Series and acting nominations for Stephen Graham, Owen Cooper, and Erin Doherty. MAX’s “The Pitt” earned three nominations for Breakthrough Drama Series as well as acting nominations for Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa. FX’s “Dying For Sex” also landed three nominations for Breakthrough Limited Series and acting recognition for Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate.

Other programs with multiple nominations included “The Studio,” “Matlock,” “Black Doves,” “English Teacher,” “Paradise,” “Fantasmas,” and “Penelope.” Notable acting nods went to Kathy Bates (“Matlock”), Sterling K. Brown (“Paradise”), Renee Zellweger (“Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy”), Olivia Williams (“Dune: Prophecy”), Ted Danson (“A Man on the Inside”), Brian Tyree Henry (“Dope Thief”), Aldis Hodge (“Cross”), and Diego Luna, (“La Maquina”), among others.
In a statement, Jeffrey Sharp, Executive Director of The Gotham, noted, “Building on the success of last year’s inaugural ceremony, the Gotham Television Awards returns with new categories, expanded tributes, and a larger stage to celebrate the creators and artists making their mark on today’s television landscape. As the first awards show of the new television season, we are proud to bring together the industry’s most exciting new voices, celebrate breakthrough achievements, and deepen our commitment to supporting the creative community.”
The winners of the 2025 Gotham Television Awards will be announced at 7 PM ET on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. Tributes will also be handed out to Amy Sherman-Palladino, Daniel Palladino, and Hwang Dong-hyuk, with more to be announced in the weeks to come.
