Sinners Has Now Passed Almost Every Conjuring Movie At The Box Office

Sinners has now passed almost every Conjuring movie at the box office. Written and directed by Ryan Coogler (Creed, Black Panther), the horror film features Michael B. Jordan portraying twin brothers with criminal pasts, Smoke and Stack, who return to their hometown in the Mississippi Delta in 1932 to start a juke joint and face off against a horde of vampires. Sinners’ cast also includes Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Miller, and Delroy Lindo. Now, per Box Office Mojo, with a worldwide total of over $338 million and counting, Sinners has passed almost every Conjuring movie at the box office. What Sinners’ Box Office Milestone Means For The Movie
Can It Pass The Nun & How High Can It Climb?
With Sinners still playing in theaters, it begs the question of whether it can pass The Nun and beat every Conjuring movie at the box office. With over $338 million and counting worldwide, Sinners needs to make about $28 million more to pass The Nun’s $366 million. While possible, this might prove to be a difficult feat with Sinners’ box office run winding down. In the past week, it’s only been grossing about $1-2 million daily at the box office.

7 Reasons Sinners Is The Best Movie Of 2025 So Far
Ryan Coogler’s horror film, Sinners, has become the best movie of 2025 for several reasons, including the cast, the visuals, the story, and the music.
Sinners’ box office will also be severely capped once it releases on digital platforms on June 3, meaning it only has about a week before its theatrical run is effectively over. However, Sinners does seem virtually guaranteed to pass A Quiet Place at $340 million to become the 14th highest-grossing horror movie of all time. Alien: Romulus at $350 million in 13th place could also be attainable for Sinners, but passing The Nun in 11th place will prove difficult with little steam left in its theatrical run.
Our Take On Sinners Passing Almost Every Conjuring Movie At The Box Office
It’s An Impressive Feat
Passing almost every Conjuring movie at the box office is an incredible feat for Sinners. Unlike The Conjuring, Sinners is an original horror film that is not part of an existing franchise and has no built-in fanbase. Instead, Sinners has relied on Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan’s name recognition, stellar reviews, and positive word of mouth. While The Nun still holds the top spot, Sinners outperforming several major entries in The Conjuring franchise speaks volumes for its success. Sinners continues to be one of the best box office stories of 2025. In an era dominated by sequels and IP-driven films, its success is a big win for original horror and bold, creative storytelling in general. Source: Box Office Mojo
