Watch Gareth Edwards Bring the Dinos of ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ to Life in New Sneak Peek

May 28, 2025

Jurassic World: Rebirth can confidently be called one of the most anticipated blockbusters of the year. A new behind-the-scenes video from the sequel has been released by Universal Pictures, giving audiences a look at how the movie was made. Years after the events of Jurassic World: Dominion, new characters will lead the franchise into the future. The only problem will be for them to survive the creatures waiting for them on the island. Gareth Edwards is ready to introduce a new era of action in Jurassic World: Rebirth, the story that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats on July 2.
The new video from Jurassic World: Rebirth mostly focuses on the river sequence featuring new characters being chased around by the T-Rex. Gareth Edwards can be seen alongside some of the stars from the movie, with everyone diving into the water before the visual effects are added during post-production. Other scenes from the first trailer for Jurassic World: Rebirth were also a part of this video. Jonathan Bailey and Scarlett Johansson can be seen portraying their characters for the scene in which they try to steal DNA from a hidden dinosaur egg.
Jurassic World: Rebirth will introduce a storyline in which the dinosaurs can no longer live healthy lives in the Earth’s environment. In order to save the creatures from going extinct once again, Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson) and Dr. Henry Loomis (Jonathan Bailey) will lead a mission to retrieve DNA from the three biggest creatures from the island of rejects InGen left behind. The biggest problem they will encounter is a new hybrid lurking in the shadows. Mahershala Ali will star in Jurassic World: Rebirth as Duncan Kincaid. The character will lead Zora’s team before she gets lost in the jungle with Dr. Loomis.
A New Era Begins

Jurassic World Rebirth could mark the start of a new era for the franchise. A decade before the release of the new sequel, Jurassic World introduced Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) as the new heroes who showed the world that dinosaurs still ruled over the global box office. Universal Pictures cast Jonathan Bailey for the next Jurassic adventure after working with the actor in the Wicked movies. And after becoming a Marvel Cinematic Universe icon, Scarlett Johansson returns to major blockbusters thanks to the release of Jurassic World Rebirth. The planet is about to find out if Rebirth can become the fourth straight movie from the franchise to earn more than $1 billion at the global box office.
Jurassic World Rebirth roars into theaters on July 2. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
