The third and final season of the show was delayed quite a bit, though. In 2020 because of the pandemic and was then further delayed in mid-2021 by Applegate’s multiple sclerosis diagnosis.
“There was the sense of, ‘Well, let’s get her some medicine so she can get better,’” Applegate recently told the New York Times candidly about grappling with her disease. “And there is no better. But it was good for me. I needed to process my loss of my life, my loss of that part of me. So I needed that time.” Applegate continued, “Although it’s not like I came on the other side of it, like, ‘Woohoo, I’m totally fine.’ Acceptance? No. I’m never going to accept this. I’m pissed.” It’s heartening to hear her still in the fight, though.
“Dead To Me” also features James Marsden, Sam McCarthy, Luke Roessler, Diana Maria Riva, Brandon Scott, Natalie Morales, Garret Dillahunt, Frances Conroy, Max Jenkins, and Valerie Mahaffey.
