Jeffrey Dean Morgan shared an image that seems to suggest he’ll have a role in Invincible seasons 2 and 3.
Hot off his casting in The Boys, could Jeffrey Dean Morgan be joining another ultra-violent superhero series at Prime Video? Morgan, who’s perhaps best known for playing Negan in The Walking Dead, was previously announced for the cast of The Boys, joining that show’s upcoming fourth season in a mystery role. On Sunday, the actor shared an image to Instagram of himself with a pair of compendiums for Invincible comic books, courtesy of Robert Kirkman, who helped created both Invincible and The Walking Dead.
“Doing a little reading. Thanks to (Robert Kirkman),” JDM says in the caption.
While Morgan is not making any specific announcements, fans were quick to surmise that this is a coy way of revealing his casting in Prime Video’s animated series adaptation of Invincible. It may be no coincidence that Morgan is specifically posing with volumes 2 and 3 of the Invincible compendiums. Seasons 2 and 3 of Invincible are both in active development, as the show had previously been given a 2-season renewal by Amazon. Is this way of Morgan’s way of saying he’ll be voicing a character in those upcoming seasons of the TV series?

Morgan’s casting in The Boys had many fans excited, so if it turns out he’s really been cast in Invincible as well, that is sure to also be met with great enthusiasm from many. It remains unclear who Morgan will play in The Boys when he comes into the show in season 4, but it sounds like he will be playing a character that will be one to remember, and that’s obviously saying a lot considering all fans have seen from the first three seasons.
“I would say his Sun sign is ‘badass,’ and his Moon sign is ‘You don’t even want to f—ing know,'” The Boys actor Nathan Mitchell recently revealed about JDM’s character, via The Movie Dweeb. “I don’t know how much can be revealed about that character, but I think the cool thing about this show is we’re always going in different directions and showing you different storylines and different characters in ways you wouldn’t expect, so I think that Jeffrey Dean Morgan is going to play a role that stays with fans for a long time.”
The second and third seasons of the TV series are in the works, and it was recently confirmed that season 2 will premiere on Prime Video sometime later this year. For now, you can stream the first season of Invincible on Prime Video, and keep an eye out for Morgan in Prime Video’s upcoming fourth season of The Boys as well as AMC’s Walking Dead spinoff series, The Walking Dead: Dead City, which puts him back in the role of Negan.
