Move Over Alan Ritchson This Jack Reacher Is Gaining Audiences’ Attention on Streaming

Aug 19, 2025

Lee Child’s Jack Reacher never ceases to amuse, whether it’s the big screen adaptation or the small screen one. The promise of the titular character being a perfect mix of brains and brawn keeps bringing the audience back to the screen. Before Alan Ritchson gave fans the iconic portrayal of the beloved character, Tom Cruise took up the role and excelled in it on the big screen. Now the Christopher McQuarrie-directed movie has fans’ attention. Per FlixPatrol, the 2012 action-thriller Jack Reacher is in Pluto TV’s top 10 charts. The movie stands tall at number 8 in a list that also features Cillian Murphy’s 28 Days Later, Harrison Ford’s The Fugitive, James Cameron’s Titanic, Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, and more. Adapted from Child’s One Shot, Cruise’s Jack Reacher follows the titular ex-Army investigator as he takes up the case of helping the defense attorney of a military sniper charged with killing five people in town in a random attack. However, the more Reacher looks into the case, the more complicated it appears. The movie was a major hit back in the day, earning over $200 million worldwide, on a $60 million budget. The film was loved for its portrayal of the fan-favorite hero, the plot, and amazing action set pieces. The movie was well received by the critics and the audiences, who respectively gave it 64% and 67% Rotten Tomatoes rating. The feature has some compelling performances from Rosamund Pike, Werner Herzog, Robert Duvall, David Oyelowo, Richard Jenkins, and Jai Courtney. Jack Reacher marks second collaboration between Cruise and McQuarrie, who previously worked on Valkyrie, and their collaboration continued with the Mission: Impossible franchise.
What to Expect From ‘Reacher’ Season 4?

Apart from excitement and a new love interest, Reacher has many secrets to unfold in season 4. The Ritchson-led series is currently filming, and all major details are kept tightly under wraps. The actor previously shared a behind-the-scenes tease with the fans, where he sported a black eye and revealed, “I’m so excited about what we’re doing this year. We’re a few weeks in to a long stretch and I’m loving it all so far. Feels very right.” Further adding, “If the story was any more high octane we’d have to check people’s heart health before watching,” he joked. “Things get crazy this season in the best way.” While most details about the project are kept tightly under wraps, the exciting tease from the actor is enough for fans. Jack Reacher is streaming on Pluto TV. The Reacher series is available to stream on Prime Video. Stay tuned to Collider for more such updates.
