Rebecca Ferguson Leads An All-Star Ensemble In Apple TV+ Post-Apocalyptic Series

Mar 6, 2023

There seems to be no shortage of post-apocalypse content nowadays. Obviously, the TV world is dominated by “The Last of Us” discussions, but even before then, we had recent shows like “Sweet Tooth,” “Station 11,” “Y: The Last Man,” and about a dozen different “The Walking Dead” series. Well, it appears studios aren’t done with that yet, even as the world recovers from our own serious worldwide virus, with the upcoming “Silo.”

The teaser for “Silo” does a good job of setting up the general idea of the show. In the future, there is a civilization that lives in a massive underground silo. However, the twist is that no one knows why or when the silo was built. All they know is that death awaits you outside of the silo in the apparent wasteland. But what if there’s more to that story? The series is based on the popular sci-fi novel, “Wool.”
Rebecca Ferguson leads the ensemble cast that includes Common, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash , David Oyelowo, Rashida Jones, and Tim Robbins. The series is created and showrun by Graham Yost, who is known for his work on “Band of Brothers” and “Justified.” The first three episodes of “Silo” are directed by Morten Tyldum, who directed “Imitation Game.”

“Silo” debuts on Apple TV+ on May 5. You can watch the teaser below.
Here’s the synopsis:
Silo is the story of the last ten thousand people on earth, their mile-deep home protecting them from the toxic and deadly world outside. However, no one knows when or why the silo was built and any who try to find out face fatal consequences. Ferguson stars as Juliette, an engineer, who seeks answers about a loved one’s murder and tumbles onto a mystery that goes far deeper than she could have ever imagined, leading her to discover that if the lies don’t kill you, the truth will.
