Kelly Marie Tran Stars In New Hulu Horror Movie On March 13

Now three seasons old, “Hulu’s Bite Size Halloween” has proven to be a showcase for up-and-coming directors who want to launch themselves from shorts to feature-length genre filmmaking. The most recent one to make that jump? Shal Ngo, who updates a short he directed for S2 of Hulu‘s Halloween series into a new film that premieres on the streamer next month.

“Control Freak” stars “Star Wars” actress Kelly Marie Tran as a motivational speaker whose persistent itch on the back of her hand hides a sinister secret.
Here’s an official synopsis for “Control Freak,” courtesy of Hulu:
Directed and written by Shal Ngo, known for his work on “The Park,” “The Box,” and “The Last Fisherman,” “Control Freak” introduces a chilling narrative: “A motivational speaker is tormented by an unrelenting itch on the back of her head.” This intriguing premise leads into a terrifying journey as she battles a parasitic demon from her homeland, bringing a fresh and thrilling perspective to the horror genre.
“Control Freak” stars Tran and Miles Robbin. Callie Johnson, Kieu Chinh, Zack Gold, and Scott Takeda also star.
Ngo writes and directs the film, an update of his 2021 short “Control” from Season 2 of “Hulu’s Bite Size Halloween.” Other horror features from WorthenBrooks and Hulu include “Appendage,” “The Mill,” “Clock,” “Mr. Crocket,” and “Carved.”
