Jul 19, 2025

It’s almost that time of the year again, when sweater weather and new seasons of television shows take over everyone’s lives. It’s always a good feeling to know the show you love made it through the ‘canceled or renewed’ period. Now, networks like ABC are rolling out their fall schedules and are preparing for millions of fans to tune in to their favorite shows. The popular crime drama High Potential, the procedural drama 9-1-1, and its new upcoming spin-off, 9-1-1: Nashville, officially have season release dates. According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC will stretch out its premieres over several weeks in September and October. High Potential, which stars Kaitlin Olson (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), will kick off its sophomore season on September 16 in the same Tuesday spot. The series proved to be a hit for the network, primarily attracting young viewers between the ages of 18 and 49. It drew in approximately 16.14 million viewers for ABC, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter, and boasts a 96% Rotten Tomatoes score. High Potential follows Morgan Gillory as a one-of-a-kind cleaner. Gillory is intellectually gifted, with an IQ of 160. She is also a single mother of three who works as a cleaning woman for the Los Angeles Police Department. After solving a case, she gets the opportunity to become a consultant for the LAPD’s Major Crimes division. However, her main challenge becomes being paired with skeptical detective Adam Karadec (Daniel Sunjata). The series also stars Javicia Leslie as Daphne Forrester, Deniz Akdeniz as Lev “Oz” Özdil, Amirah J as Ava Gillory, Judy Reyes as Selena Soto, and more.

Kaitlin Olson Has Received Critical Acclaim for Her Leading Role in ‘High Potential’

ABC

Other shows set to release new seasons on ABC in the fall include the Quinta Brunson-led Abbott Elementary, Dancing With The Stars, Shifting Gears, The Golden Bachelor, Shark Tank, Grey’s Anatomy, The Rookie, and more. It wouldn’t be fall without football, and ABC is the network to watch if you want to tune in to Monday Night Football (September 8) and Saturday Night College Football (August 23). Nowadays, it’s almost impossible for a show to be a hit in its first season. With everyone critiquing everything, it’s more likely for a series’ flaws to be pointed out than for it to gain popularity. That wasn’t the case for High Potential. With an almost perfect RT score, Olson’s performance in the crime drama is highlighted more than its premise. And deservedly so. Source: The Hollywood Reporter
