Will John Krasinski play the role of Mister Fantastic in the MCU’s Fantastic Four reboot? Emily Blunt sure hopes so.
Marvel Studios
A Quiet Place II star Emily Blunt wants her co-star and real-life husband John Krasinski to return as Fantastic Four leader Reed Richards in the MCU. Speaking with HeyUGuys, Blunt described Krasinski as a “huge fan” of the Marvel franchise and declared her hopes to see him reprise the role of Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic somewhere down the line.
“I was really happy for him because I think he’s a huge fan. And I understand why it’s such an ardent passionate religion for people. It’s a huge part of our cinematic history now. So he was thrilled… Well, I hope [we can see him in the role again]. I hope so. You never know.”
The Office star John Krasinski has been high up on Fantastic Four fan-casting lists for years, with Emily Blunt often topping the list of who Marvel fans would like to see play fellow Fantastic Four member Susan Storm aka The Invisible Woman. With regard to Krasinski, fans finally got their wish when the actor featured as Mister Fantastic in this year’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Appearing as a member of the superhero think-tank The Illuminati in the variant universe of Earth-838, Krasinski’s iteration of the character did not last long after attempting to do battle with Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch. Despite this fate, many MCU fans agree with Emily Blunt in wanting to see John Krasinski reprise the role when the Fantastic Four lead their own adventure in 2025.
