Fans Rally to Save ‘The Tiny Chef Show’ After Cancellation by Nickelodeon

Jun 28, 2025

After three seasons and 41 episodes, Nickelodeon has canceled the Emmy Award-winning family series The Tiny Chef Show, and fans on social media have a lot of feelings about the announcement, even though many never knew the series existed. Debuting in 2022, the live-action/animated show created by Rachel Larsen, Ozi Akturk and Adam Reid featured Matt Hutchinson as the voice of Tiny Chef, a green humanoid vegetarian with a speech impediment who lives in a tree stump and makes different dishes along with a robot named Olly, a snail named Henry, and a caterpillar named Ruby. The wholesome adventures of Tiny Chef worked their way into the hearts of the fans that watched it over the course of the last three years, many of whom tried to tell people about it, but whose words fell on deaf ears. Take X user Ashley, for example, who said:
“I’ve been out here for nearly a year trying to tell everyone how cute + wholesome Tiny Chef is. Shame that it took cancellation and that video to get everyone to finally hop on board, but better late than never!! Save Tiny Chef!!!!”

TV Shows That Were Canceled Before They Could Properly Finish Their Story

The cancelation of a TV series often leaves its audience with a bitter taste, even more so if the story never really came to a conclusion.

That video in question was the official cancellation announcement that broke the internet yesterday, which featured Tiny Chef just going about his business when he got a call from Nickelodeon informing him that his show was no more. After pleading with the network and saying he had “ideas that will blow your mind,” acceptance sat in as he hung up the phone. Going over to his tiny bed, Tiny Chef broke down in tears, breaking the hearts of millions along with him.
Fans React to ‘The Tiny Chef Show’s Cancellation

Reactions to the video (seen above) have been swift on social media, with many rallying around the series to save it despite never having seen an episode. “JUSTICE FOR TINY CHEF (I have never seen an episode ever in my life),” wrote one X user, while another added: “Never knew tiny chef existed before i saw this post on the tl but i know for a fact he ain’t deserve that sh*t.” The award for best comment goes to @ChrisRenois, though, who said:

“They let Dan Schneider terrorize minors for 2 decades but my dawg Tiny Chef gotta go after 2 seasons?!”

Speaking of awards, in addition to winning a couple of Annie Awards over the course of its run, The Tiny Chef Show also took home two Children’s and Family Emmy Award trophies – one in 2023 for Outstanding Directing for a Preschool Animated Program, and another just this year for Outstanding Preschool Animated Series. That makes its cancellation all the more baffling to people, like another x user who wrote:
“Whoever made the decision to cancel Tiny Chef should be fired because this is some of the best content on the internet.”
Others attached some humorous GIFs and photos to their comments, like @ryloken68, who posted one of Megatron ripping Sentinel Prime in half while saying, “Me when the executive who made the call to cancel the Tiny Chef show (I’ve never heard of The Tiny Chef Show once in my life)” Then there was user @HunterFrye_Sav, who tacked on a pic of Robert De Niro with a sour look on his face when he wrote, “You’re laughing? Tiny Chef is heartbroken and you’re laughing!?” All hope is not lost for Tiny Chef, though, as the creators have started a campaign to raise money to keep things going now that they don’t have that Nickelodeon cash coming in. Taking to the official website, they wrote about their desire to continue Chef’s journey, but that they “can’t do it without your support.” They encouraged folks to join the fan club which ranges anywhere from $2/month to $100/month, and also posted Venmo and PayPal accounts viewers can send money to. In lieu of cash, fans can also subscribe to the YouTube channel, sign up for a newsletter, or just share the love on social media to continue bringing awareness to The Tiny Chef Show. Hopefully the adventures of Tiny Chef manage to continue, because in this topsy-turvy world we live in, the need for wholesome content like that which brings people together is more important now than it ever was. We’ll keep our fingers crossed that The Tiny Chef Show finds a way forward, but in the meantime, be sure to visit the website below to show your support. Source: X / The Tiny Chef Show Website
