Godha starring Tovino Thomas and Wamiqa Gabbi in lead role is the latest release in this weekend. The movie is directed by Basil Joseph and is a sports comedy movie.
This is our young director Basil Joseph’s second movie after superhit comedy movie Kunjiramayanam. So all are excited to get yet another variety comedy flick from him again. Lets go for the review.
The movie is based on wrestling. Renji Panicker as Captain is a well known wrestler and coach of the village. But youngsters in the village are not interested in the sports. So he planned to conduct a wrestling tournament in his village.
The movies plot arises with this main thread and there comes actress Wamiqa as a lady wrestler from Punjab and Tovino as who is seen as son of Renji Panicker is also a wrestler and how the movie thread arises forms the crux element of the movie.
Tovino is a rising star and he is in a position to take any movie on his shoulder to show its success point. Tovino played his part very well in the movie. But the show steeler was Wamiqa Gabbi. She portrayed the character of a wrestler in a good and decent way.
Renji Panicker is back with a powerful performance after some bad lucks. Aju Varghese, Hareesh Perumanna, Sreejith Ravi, Kottayam Aju Vargheese, Sreejith Ravi, Kottayam Pradeep and Biju Kuttan are the stars who handled the humorous part of the movie and done their part very well.
Basil again proved his direction skills through this movie. Cinematographer Vishnu Sarma has done a perfect job to make the movie visually appealing. Shaan Rahman’s music is another highlight of the movie.
Overall, Godha is a perfectly an entertaining movie like Kunjiramayanam and shows some spirit of wrestling. Watching this movie is worth.
