OK Jaanu Hindi Movie Review & Rating

Rating: 2.5/5

OK Jaanu, the movie directed by Shaad Ali and a remake of Mani Ratnam’s Ok Kanmani is in theatres. OK Jaanu has the story and screenplay by Mani Ratnam.

Adi and Tara the lead young characters in the movie. They have different goals and falls for each other. But they done want to tie a knot for their relarionship.

There is also another pair, Gopi and Charu. They are old couple and Charu, Gopi’s wife is an Alzheimer’s patient. Gopi does everything for her. He does all house hold works and everything and Charu only remebers her husband only.

The plot of the movie revolves around these couples and how they change their life in each others life is portraited. We can learn lots from these old and young romance in the movie OK Jaanu.

Naseeruddin Shah is Gopi and his pair Charu is played by Leela Samson. Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur plays as Tara and Adi in the movie.

Only asset of the movie is Mani Ratnam’s screenplay. Some remakes will ruin the original feel of the movie, but some will be amazing too. But here I cant explain what happened for the movie.

If you are a Mani Ratnam fan then you will miss his entire directional skill in the movie. One of the great example is the song ‘Humma Humma’ which is also a remake.

The song ‘Humma humma’ is a complete misfit for the movie. We cant blame the movie because the Mani Ratnam movie was only a hit not blockbuster. It was Dulquer Salman and Nitya Menen performance given life to the movie in tamil version.

Shraddha Kapoor is good in the movie and she performed very well in every romantic scenes with her co-star. Aditya Roy Kapoor was good in his acting skills but delivered only half for the character Adi in the movie.

Leela Samson and Naseerudeen Shah are another performers in the movie. The real heart touching life was portrayed by these stars.

If you are looking for a comparison then you will get lots of negatives. If you are looking for a good romantic movie then it will satisfy your expectation.
